DopeMirrors are folding motorcycle mirrors for riders who combine road travel with gravel and trail riding. Our current Yamaha rider gallery shows the Yamaha Tenere 700 fitted with DopeMirrors. We use the exact model and year to check the mounting configuration before purchase, especially when the bike has aftermarket handguards, handlebars or modified mirror mounts.
The Tenere 700 is commonly used for long distance travel as well as off road riding, which means its mirrors need to work in very different conditions. DopeMirrors use a double ball joint that allows the mirror to be adjusted or folded. This can make the cockpit easier to manage on narrow trails and gives the assembly room to move when it meets an obstacle.
Rubber damping is used at both ball joints. The system is designed to reduce vibration compared with many conventional mirror setups and to provide a clearer, more stable view when the surface becomes rough or speed increases. We describe this as vibration reduction, not complete elimination of vibration, because the final result also depends on the motorcycle and setup.
The current DopeMirrors product is E9 marked according to ECE R81. For riders who travel between road sections and off road routes, this combines a folding construction with an approved mirror configuration intended for public road use in Europe.
The set contains two mirrors, two 15 cm aluminium arms and mounting balls selected for the motorcycle. The mounting balls use stainless steel and rubber, while the mirror housing is made from reinforced nylon with glass fibre. You do not need to identify the thread before ordering. Give us your Yamaha model and year and we will check the configuration.
