The current DopeMirrors set contains two mirrors, two 15 cm arms and mounting balls selected for the motorcycle. Correct installation starts with using the mounting configuration intended for the exact motorcycle model and year.
Check that the supplied mounting parts match the motorcycle information given with the order. If the bike has aftermarket handguards, handlebars, relocated controls or existing mirror adapters, confirm compatibility before forcing a thread or changing the setup.
Remove the original mirrors according to the motorcycle manufacturer procedure. Install the supplied mounting balls in the correct positions. Attach the arms to the lower ball joints, then fit and position the mirrors on the upper joints. Adjust the mirrors while seated in your normal riding position and tighten the joints enough to hold the chosen position securely.
Do not use an invented universal torque value. The correct approach depends on the motorcycle mounting point and hardware. If you are unsure about the original mount, use the motorcycle service information or contact us before tightening.
Position the arms and housings so the rear view is useful without placing the mirrors unnecessarily far outside the motorcycle. Make small adjustments at both joints rather than forcing all movement through one connection.
When a more compact setup is useful, loosen the joint only as much as needed, move the mirror to the desired position and secure it again. Avoid riding with a joint intentionally left loose because repeated movement can affect stability and wear.
Contamination on a ball or inside a connector can reduce friction. Clean the contact surfaces and remove oil, grease or other slippery residue. Isopropyl alcohol can be used for cleaning the ball and connector surfaces. Do not add oily lubricant to a friction surface that is intended to hold position.
Send a photo of the installed mirror, the motorcycle model and year, and a short description of the problem. This is usually more useful than guessing which component needs adjustment.
