DopeMirrors combine a folding mirror system with ECE R81 approval for riders who use BMW adventure motorcycles on the road and in the terrain. Our gallery includes BMW G310GS, F800, F900, R1200GS, R1250 and R1300GS motorcycles fitted with DopeMirrors. Exact compatibility still needs to be checked by model, year and mounting setup.
A GS can spend one day on a motorway and the next on gravel or a narrow trail. A fixed mirror has to stay in one position for every situation. The DopeMirrors double ball joint allows the rider to change the position of the mirror or fold it when needed. The joints also use rubber damping to reduce vibration and support a more stable rear view.
The current DopeMirrors system uses mounting balls selected for the motorcycle. BMW applications can require a different thread configuration from many other adventure bikes, so we do not ask the rider to guess the thread. Send the exact BMW model and year. If the original mirror mount, handguard or handlebar has been changed, include that information as well.
The current model carries E9 marking according to ECE R81. This is especially relevant for riders who want an adventure focused folding mirror without giving up an approved road configuration in Europe.
The mirror system uses stainless steel and rubber mounting balls, aluminium arms and a reinforced nylon housing with glass fibre. The current set contains two mirrors, two 15 cm arms and the mounting balls selected for the motorcycle.
DopeMirrors are intended for riders who do not want to switch between a road mirror and an off road setup. The same adjustable construction is designed to remain useful during everyday riding, travel and trail sections.
