BMW GS motorcycles are used for everything from daily road riding and motorway travel to gravel and off road routes. DopeMirrors are designed for exactly this mixed use. The current system combines a folding double ball joint construction with rubber damping and an E9 marked mirror according to ECE R81.
Current DopeMirrors materials show or reference BMW G310GS, F800, F900, R1200GS, R1250 and R1300GS motorcycles. This is not a promise that every model year or modified cockpit uses the same mounting parts. Exact fitment should be checked using the model, year and current mirror mounting point.
A lower and upper ball joint allow both the arm and mirror housing to be repositioned. This makes it possible to set the mirrors for road visibility and move them into a more compact position when the riding conditions change. The system can also move when it meets an obstacle instead of behaving like a completely rigid mirror stem.
Rubber damping is used at both joints to reduce vibration transferred to the mirror. The goal is a more stable rear view on rough surfaces and at higher speeds. The exact level of vibration still depends on the motorcycle, engine, tyres and installation, so DopeMirrors do not rely on a zero vibration claim.
BMW applications can use a different mounting thread from many other adventure motorcycles. The current consumer set contains mounting balls selected for the motorcycle, so the rider does not need to guess the thread size. Send the exact BMW model and year and mention any aftermarket handguards, handlebars or changed mirror mounts.
The current set uses stainless steel and rubber mounting balls, 15 cm aluminium arms and a reinforced nylon housing with glass fibre. The package contains two mirrors, two arms and mounting balls selected for the motorcycle.
The current DopeMirrors model carries E9 marking according to ECE R81 and is covered by the DopeMirrors lifetime warranty according to its terms. These two elements matter for riders who want a product intended for long term adventure use without treating road legality as an afterthought.
